The house and campsite Onjowewe Jako Himba Village are both located 20km from Kamanjab in the region of Damaralnd North East of Namibia .
Accommodation:
The house is a unique place that looks nothing like a classic lodge. Built in 2004 on the farm of Mr. Burger in the filming of “The Trail”, it has since been renovated. With no electricity, lighting at night is with kerosene lamps, bamboo torches and candles which is involved in creating a magical and unreal. The house consists of a large living room which was located the dining room, 2 double rooms with bathroom and one double room with outside bathroom.

The basic campsite, set amongst granite boulders, provides facilities for hot showers / cold and shared bathroom.

Activities :

Visit a Himba village located a few hundred meters from the house and the campsite .. The tour will give you the opportunity to discover the habits and customs of the people Ova-Himba: Ceremony milking of “smoke bath”, finding their beliefs, homeopathic medicine, traditional jewelry making, art of hairdressing etc..
Revenues generated by this visit to happen with this tribe to its daily needs (food, drugs …), to support orphaned children, to send some children to school.
Bushman Engravings: nearly 1,500 engravings bushman back over 2,000 years, declared a national monument, was discovered on the site Peet Alberts Koppies
